About Ashchotanam

Aschotanam or warm medicinal liquids are applied as eye drops to treat eye-related issues. While cold liquids support maintaining pitta balance, warm liquids balance Vata, and lukewarm liquids balance Kapha. The application of liquid medications in the form of eye drops is a step in the process that is typically done during the early stage of illness therapy.

Before illness manifestation, all eye diseases are accompanied by pain, itching, friction, burning during lacrimation, and redness. Fruit, leaf, or tree bark essence is used to create eye drops. Drop by drop, the medication is poured from a height of one to two inches.

During the procedure, the physician's left hand is used to open the patient's eye. Then the medication dispenser is held in the physician's right hand and during the procedure, 10 to 12 drops of the dosage are employed. Drops are applied through the medication dispenser from a distance of two inches above the inner angle or inner canthus of the eye. After the procedure, gently wipe the eyes with soft clothes.
