However, Udwarthanam is not recommended for people who have a pitta-predominant constitution or who suffer from pitta-related disorders such as inflammation, burning, acidity, ulcers, rashes, and bleeding. It is also contraindicated for people who have sensitive skin, wounds, cuts, bruises, infections, or allergies. Pregnant women, children, elderly people, and people with chronic diseases should consult their doctor before undergoing Udwarthanam.

This can lead to injuries, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, addiction, dependency, side effects, and rebound weight gain.
