Ayurveda tips to reduce blood sugar

If you have diabetes and are looking for ways to control natural sugar, you have just arrived at the right place. A diabetic must have regular medication and health check-ups to maintain a solid daily routine that includes a morning workout, yoga sessions, eating 5 meals per day, eating diabetic-friendly foods, and so on. In this blog, Ayurheritage, the top ayurveda clinic in Dubai offers the right advice for all of your diabetes-related woes.

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a condition that impairs your body's capacity to respond to insulin, resulting in improper carbohydrate metabolism and high blood sugar levels. Diabetes is referred to as Madhumeha in Ayurveda, and its treatment includes avoiding excessive sugar and carbs. Diabetes management is difficult, but not impossible. A few lifestyle modifications can help you maintain and regulate your blood sugar levels.

Ayurvedic approach to Diabetes

Diabetes is known as Madhumeha in Ayurveda. Diabetes mellitus is known as Vata Prameha. According to Ayurveda, it is a result of the Vata Dosha imbalance. Diabetes insipidus is known as Kapha Prameha, which is resulted from a  Kapha Dosha imbalance. Diabetes type 1 and type 2 patients are treated accordingly by Ayurveda. It assists them in addressing the root causes of diabetes and promoting general health advantages.

Ayurveda cites the primary causes of diabetes as

1. Physical inactivity

2. Excessive sleep

3. Excessive use of curd

4. Eating too much food that triggers Kapha.

5. Heridioty

Diabetes symptoms

Type 1 symptoms

  • Extreme thirst

  • Excessive hunger

  • Upset stomach

  • Constant fatigue

Type 2 symptoms

  • Unusual frequent urination

  • Excessive hunger

  • slow-healing wounds.

  • Unintended weight loss.

Cause of type 1 diabetes

The exact reason for type 1 diabetes is still unknown. However, it is cited to be the result of an autoimmune reaction. In this case, the immune system may begin attacking the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Being overweight, on the other hand, is not believed to be a cause of type 1 diabetes.

Cause of type 2 diabetes

Diabetes type 2 can develop from an existing case of prediabetes. Since the pancreas cannot produce insulin, your body may struggle to overcome this resistance.

While the exact reason for type 2 diabetes is unknown, the condition is thought to be a result of hereditary and environmental factors. Contrary to type 1 diabetes, being overweight is a major cause of type 2 diabetes. However, it should be noted that not everyone with type 2 diabetes is overweight.
